The CrossFit Games are the world’s premier test to find the Fittest on Earth™. They are world-renowned as a grueling test for the world’s toughest athletes and a thrilling experience for spectators. Since its inception in 2007, the CrossFit Games have become “one of the fastest growing sports in America,” according to Forbes.

Only the best of the best can compete in the Games. Team Brigade began their journey in February of this year by competing in the Open, a worldwide, five-week competition. The top athletes from the Open in the 17 regions around the world qualify for the second stage of the competition a three-day, live competition known as “Regionals”.  Team Brigade will be competing in the Central East Regionals, held in Cincinnati, Ohio May 16-18.

Team leader and box owner Emily Griffith is a Games veteran.  She has competed as an individual at Regionals for the past three years. This will also be Brigades second time to bring a team to Regionals despite having only been open for 3 years. Emily is co-owner of CrossFit Brigade, with her husband, Eric.

“I am so proud of these athletes and all of our members who competed in the CrossFit Games Open.”  said Griffith. “I continually receive messages from members, not just our top competitors, describing amazing results and astounding triumphs.  The energy at CrossFit Brigade is really awesome to behold.”

Out of over 200,000 world-wide competitors, only 30 teams of 6, 48 male individuals, and 48 females from each region are invited to compete at Regionals. In the Central East Region, Team Brigade secured their spot by placing 14th out of 262 teams.

“We are excited about this year’s competition.  The 8 events are very grueling but we have put in the work and are ready for the challenge.” said Emily. “We are enormously grateful for the opportunity to represent our box, the local CrossFit community and Chattanooga at the Regional Games.”
