THIS WEEK

Almost every time we ask someone how they’ve been doing, what answer do we get? “I’ve been good – well – you know – I’ve been really busy…” Every day we find ourselves in the midst of a battle against the chaos of our modern life. 🏋️‍♂️🏃‍♀️We try to do some things for self care like making it to the gym for a workout. Your time at Brigade should be more than just hitting the gym – it should be about embracing life to the fullest!

I mean, let’s be real. We are constantly tempted to chow down on junk food and cozy up on the couch instead of breaking a sweat. 🍔🛋️ But here’s the kicker: those health costs keep on soaring like a rocket 🚀, and it’s a conversation we can’t ignore.

Even with the fanciest doctors and the swankiest hospitals, our health stats are going downhill, and our wallets are getting lighter. 😓

Brigade exists to empower people to be fit for survival outside of the current state of the healthcare system. We want you to get fit and be ready to tackle life head-on outside the healthcare circus.

So, what’s the secret sauce? Stick with the rock-solid routine you’ve built at Brigade. Be the exception, the health superstar who takes charge of what you can control. Chow down on the good stuff, break a sweat, and keep getting fitter, even as you add more candles to your birthday cake. 🎂🏋️‍♀️

We don’t buy into the whole “frail and feeble” narrative that society loves to push. We believe you can age like a fine wine, getting better and stronger with every passing year! 🍷💪

Ready to be the hero of your own life story? Let’s do this! 🙌

This Week:

There are several small, manageable steps you can take this week to start improving your health. Here are a few suggestions – Pick 1 or 2, start this week and don’t stop until it’s a routine.

Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Staying well-hydrated is essential for overall health and can help with digestion, skin health, and more.

Eat More Vegetables – Try to incorporate more vegetables into your meals. They are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber that are essential for good health.

Stay Active – Even if you’re not currently training at Brigade, you can start by adding more physical activity to your daily routine. Consider taking a 30-minute walk, going for a bike ride, or doing some simple bodyweight exercises at home.

Limit Processed Foods – Cut down on processed foods, sugary snacks, and fast food. Opt for whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.

Prioritize Sleep – Make an effort to get 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. A good night’s sleep is crucial for physical and mental well-being.

Reduce Stress – Practice stress-reduction techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga. Chronic stress can have negative effects on your health, so finding ways to manage it is important.

Set Realistic Goals – Identify one or two specific health goals for the week. Whether it’s drinking more water, eating a certain number of servings of vegetables, or getting in a few short workouts, setting achievable goals can help you stay on track.

Stay Mindful of Portions – Pay attention to portion sizes when eating. It’s easy to overeat without realizing it, so try to be mindful of how much you’re consuming.

Connect Socially – Spend time with friends or loved ones, either in person or virtually. Social connections are important for mental health.

Plan Meals – Take some time to plan your meals and snacks for the week. Having healthy options readily available can help you make better choices.

Remember that small changes can add up over time, and the key to long-term health improvement is consistency. Start with one or two of these suggestions that resonate with you, and gradually incorporate more healthy habits into your lifestyle as you go along.

Stay strong and keep rocking,
